Gold ring stolen - only four remain
Other Stories
A gold ring has been stolen from a display at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. The ring was part of a display of jewellery through the ages, and is thought to be priceless.
Police are baffled as to why only that ring was stolen, when there were four other gold rings in the same display. DCI Nicholas said: "It's strange. The thief could have taken all of the rings without any additional effort, but chose to just take the one ring."
A Number of Leads
Police are said to be following a number of leads, and have already interviewed a number of suspects including twelve pipers and eleven drummers who were performing at a reception being held at the museum on the evening of the theft.
"We've interviewed a number of suspects, and have turned up several leads." said DCI Nick. "Whether any of them lead anywhere has yet to be seen, but we haven't made any arrests yet. Anyone with any information should get in touch with us as soon as possible."
Police are particularly keen to talk to a troupe of dancing ladies who were performing in the street around the time of the theft.
