No-L mistake leaves officials red-faced
Other Stories
Post Office officials have been left red-faced after an error led to anyone whose surname begins with the letter 'L' not receiving mail for an entire week.
"We're not sure what happened, to be honest," said spokesman Pat, "But we're investigating the circumstances surrounding the mistake and will hopefully be able to put in place measures soon to ensure it never happens again."
When questioned about where the missing post was and why no-one had noticed the large pile of undelivered was, Pat became very blustered and quickly left the stage muttering something about "No further questions at this time".
Compensation and Assurances
The Post Office has offered assurances that anyone who has been affected by the mistake will have their mail delivered within the next few days. A free book of Christmas stamps will also be offered as compensation to everyone who was affected, though you will need to send a stamped and addressed envelope to the Post Office to claim your stamps.
Poor Taste
There have been suggestions - mainly by conspriacy theorists - that the whole thing was a joke in poor taste, playing on the fact that 'No-L' and 'Noel' are similar sounding. This has been stringently denied by the Post Office, who claim they have no sense of humour.
